Thanks to www.happytheman.com where I found the link to this prog article. It is a very long article so grab a coffe or a beer, and put some HTM music on.

Haven't read it yet, but the autor is the guitarist of Land Of Chocolate, which has/had (?) a link with Echolyn - Jonn Buzby was/is (?) their keyboard-player.

Interesting article, but beware, it's a STUDY, not a piece about how great the music of HTM and Dixie Dregs is. Reading this it's hard to believe that this musician really loves the music he hears; it's so technical. In his notes he mentions two great books: Jazz-Rock : A History (Stuart Nicholson) and Rocking The Classics. For me it's also interesting to see that in note 9 the so called progressive jazz-rock is mentioned, a personal favorite style; I believe HTM can be shared under that name, just like Brand X, Bruford, UK, David Sansious and Kenso (to name a few).

Outtake from this study:
Death's Crown (1974). Cuneiform Records 55015, 1999. (live tape of a multi-media piece featuring Happy the Man line-up with Dan Owen but without Stanley Whitaker.)
Now tell me whos playing the guitar on the Deaths Crown? I always thought it was Stan ...otherwise a very interesting study. Highly recommended if you dig both progressive rock and fusion!

Well, in one way he was right, Dan played some acoustic guitar on Deaths Crown. Did anyone ever listened to his contributions on Sides from former Genesis-guitarist Anthony Phillips? Funny record, with some fine symphonic pieces, jazz-rock tracks and some silly pop-tunes.

Ok, didnt know that will listen closely next time I think that Stan is playing some very good stuff on Deaths Crown and the bonus tunes as well. I havent heard "Sides" so far but if it includes even the smallest touch of pop that would be hard for me to listen to.
