Wow. What can I say... After listening once to the promo I got today I must say I'm impressed. The Muse Awakens is everything that you expected from a Happy The Man-album, but much more too. There's happening so much in every song, that it's hard to say: that's a heavy one and that's a mellow one. As a fan of the more progressive jazzrock-tracks of Crafty Hands (like Ibby It Is and of course Steaming Pipes) I love the uptempo-songs like Contemporary Insanity, Lunch At The Psychedelicatessen and Barking Spider, but I'm also very much in love with more epic-like tracks like the title-cut, Stepping Through Time and the great closing track Il Quinto Mare, which starts like the most progressive rock-song from the album, but ends halfway like a HTM-album should end: calm and introvert.
In a while I'll give a complete review, but I guess it's clear that this one was worth the wait (and sorry for the most of you who still have to wait one more month...).
