There are critics who have an interest in more complex stuff, thank god. I just want to tell a story about an evil critic.
Couple of years ago I was happy to get a tape with a whole concert of Jethro Tull´s "A Passion Play Tour". This concert is among the best I have ever heard. The band played all those very complex parts with an ease and so tight that I sometimes had to smile. I could really hear how all the bandmembers gave all they had to give the audience a musical experience at a very high level. You can ever hear on the tape that the audience was very thrilled by the concert. It can be downloaded somewhere on the net.
And here is a review of a concert from the APP tour:
www.tullpress.com/mm30jun73.htmThis is just one example of how evil or wicked those critics "can" be. As I said, the concert I heard was perfectly performed, and the crowd loved it on the tape ive got.
Anyway, the APP tour was cancelled after a couple of concerts (dont know how many), mainly because of the bad critisism. Ian Anderson has said; -The critics savaged us.
I know that this is the worst and sadest of examples, but its also a good example of how a critic who have eaten to much beans (could be) ;D one night can ruin very, very much for a true artist, who have been working for months to create a prog masterpiece.
