Great stuff, Gulliver. This is music that deserves the attention of both lovers of electronic and progressive music. It's not only played well, the composition is interesting too: there are new things in the sound-pallet everytime, without loosing the general touch.
Personally I don't mind if posters share their stuff on this site; spreading the word of true art can start anywhere, so why not here also, were the chance to meet like-wise people is bigger than on a big pop-message board. I'm affraid I can't post any music myself, though.

In the sprirt of outing the inner musician Gilliver started, here's a link to a rough piece I did in the late 80s called "edgewater". I found an old DAT tape with this and some other forgotten works that I'd started but never really finished.

bp, nice jazzy stuff, cool laid-back mood... I would say that synth lines are quite HTM'ish! Did you play all the parts yourself?? ...And a very good, clear sound to boot... A rough piece, huh?

Thanks Gulliver. Yup, I played everything however I intended to use real percussion, vibes, trumpet and upright bass. Hence, the rough idea tag.

The rhythms and second solosynth (trumpet-like) have a lot of similarities with Kits work, but the subtle Moog-like sounds you don't hear much that way on old HTM- or Watkins-records. Dreamy and rhythmic, keywords for a lot of HTM-stuff, are certainly words that come to mind listening to this beautiful piece. It would have been great to hear it with "real" instruments; probably it would have sounded a bit more jazzy, but that's oké with me!

That was my trust Minimoog. It's now semi-retired since I bought a new Minimoog Voyager. David played my Voyager not so long ago and quickly got one for himself. We couldn't have a new HTM CD without a Moog!!

Funny that you mention that about the Moog on the new HTM-CD. I just conducted an interview with the band (hope they will get it soon from InsideOut/Petting Zoo) and I was asking some things about the Moog on that record!! I'm glad David creates sounds out of that keyboard that still sound like a Moog and doesn't try (like many modern keyboarders) to sound like a guitarist.

Well, somebody said "Fear is a man's best friend" I guess. Anyway, music that is beautiful and frightening is always moving me in some kind of way. If you've ever heard the soundtrack from Full Circle by Colin Towns you know what I mean.

I finally gave a listen, Gulliver. Very nice! I liked the solo (and patch you used) as well. Two thumbs up!

The song "Through the Years" was recorded on a Fostex 8 track, and is 100% Memorymoog, except for the drums.

"Use the Source, Luke" is 100% Moog Source, execpt for the drums.

"In This Hour" is 100% Korg Oasys.

Thanks for the reminder couse I seem to have missed this one Was looking at the picture of the Moogs great stuff - wich I had a Moog myself! A Nordlead would do as well I think. Those Nordleads are simply great. On to the music. I really like the way your music is built with all the shifts and changes and all the great Moog sounds makes also a great deal in the Gulliver sound I think. Through The Years has very nice harmonies that I like very much. And I can imagine how it all might sound with real drums. Thats the missing part. Those drum machines is not very pleasent to listen to but a great help when making your own music thats for shure. In "Use The Source Luke" I can hear some Keith Emerson influences both in playing and the choice of Moog sounds. This short tune feels like a teaser because I feel that I want to hear more. Great stuff and well played thats what Befrost thinks. More stuff please!!!!!

Thanks, Befrost! Yes, I also feel that drums are my weak link. (I appreciate the candid response, BTW) I was actually planning on re-recording Through the Years with a real drummer and a bassist, but it never happened.

Oh, and yep... Emerson is one of my influences - along with Frank of course!
