Maybe some of you might remember Stomu Yamashta's album Go from 1976. It featured artists like Klaus Schulze, Michael Shrieve, Al DiMeola and Steve Winwood. The concept-album was a great mixture of progressive rock, jazzrock, spacy synthesizer music and modern classical music with even some hints of soul and Latin. With the exception of an illegal Russian bootleg (which didn't sound that bad at all) there was no CD from this masterpiece until now. The Australian Raven Records just released a double-CD which contains Go. The rest is filled with the double-LP Go-Live From Paris (from 1976) which shows almost the same music but played in a rougher tone. And The Go Sessions (the name of this double-disk) are completed by Go Too (originally from 1977 and released previously on CD by One Way Records - that also re-released HTM's two first ones). On Go Too the sound is a bit more soulful, although the progressive jazzrock (more or less in the David Sancious-style) has remained. Go for it!!
