I think this is mighty fun when hearing a non prog band or artist within the pop, rock or whatever genre, includes prog elements in a song. It would be very fun to see if any of you HTF can contribute with something in this subject.
Alex Harvey Band
A heavy rock band I used to listen to at a very young age. Perhaps my first idols. The last album, The Rock Drill (1977) has prog rock moments. Atmospheric guitar parts, Moog and Mellotrons to imitate a large orchestra.
Sweet
Or.. The Sweet. Level Headed (1978). The last album with Brian Conolly (R.I.P) as the lead singer. Some fragment of prog can be found.
10CC
The pop band who delivered many hits in the -70s. You can hear prog fragments on every album during 1973 to 1976.
Gino Vanelli
Not my kind of music. To sleezy in my ears but sometimes the band turned to play totally impressive and amazing jazz/rock bits.
I can go on but will do that another day.
