Great find!! I have two books on Dali and just went to the biggest and indeed found The Madonna. Never noticed the resemblance with the Crafty Hands figure. Scary.

So you like Dali's work, well then this becomes even more interesting if you are familiar with his art. Funny you didn't noticed the similarity before. I really love the Crafty cover, Mario Grimaldi did a very good job. As we where talking about before, the Crafty Hands art fits well with the music.

Well, I must confess that although I have a big book with his work, I don't look at the paintings as closely and often as I did in the 70's and 80's. In that period I didn't have that much art-books, so I stared at all those mighty art-works a lot more. It's just with the music: when you have more, you can listen lesser to each.
I got into Dali when I recognized the image from Metamorphosis Of Narcissus (which I had as a poster on the wall) in the lyrics from Supper's Ready. And do you think Camel knew Christ Of St John Of The Cross when they released I Can See Your House From Here? |
