"I would have loved to be at that venue to see the guys. HTM is best appreciated live & Orion must have been awesome. I will see them in Alexandria, another nice venue although a tough trip for me, especially at that hour.........rush......."
tomy2n,
I will also see HTM at the Ram's Head, but the best sound will be in Alexandria, at the Birchmere (if HTM is playing at the main stage). The Rams Head has a problem with rock bands, in that the drums over power the music. The Orion also has the same problem that the PA has to be so loud to over power the drums. The Orion PA speakers are not in the same class as the Birchmere. I wish that rock sound engineers would take a lesson from live bluegrass productions and British live productions. In top shelf bluegrass (and some high quality work done for TV/DVD), there are no monitors except for earplug monitors. Therefore no chance for feedback or interference and results in recording studio quality with the live aspects of performance. The drums need to be shielded or isolated, as can be seen in several of Phil Collins' appearances. This is really needs to be done at the Rams Head for rock.
