Last month they finally released a live-performance of Soft Machine from the period 1973-1975. It's called Floating World Live and on MoonJune you can hear a couple of samples. Listening to the opening track The Floating World (later one of the tracks from Bundles - like most of the other songs) and Song Of Aeolus (which would appear on Softs) I have the idea that the boys from HTM could have been influenced by this music. After all, the Softs were an important band in the British progressive music-movement (especially in the Canterbury Scene). Those long, repeating keyboard-sequences remind me strongly of some of the tracks from Beginnings and the debut-album. Maybe Frank, Stan or Bill can tell something about this.
