It was back in 1994 or 1995, not that long ago, I guess most of you have been listening to HTM much longer than that.
Was listening alot to the most well known symphonic/prog bands for about 10 years, when a friend of mine asked me if I have heard this perticular and great band (wich I havent heard of). He turned his hi-fi on, thru the speakers came some very good sounding notes. Remember thinking -Wow, why havent I heard about this band before...Happy The Man...they sound like really professionals...great musicians. I must get some album right away!
Only heard just one tune at the time...think it was Sevice With A Smile.
A short time went, was searching at second hand recordstores in Stockholm for some vinyls of this band, but no one had any LPs of this band called HTM. But, I finally got the first one and "Crafty" copied to tape (cassette) from a "no name" archive. Played that tape hundreds of times, til I bought them on CD many years later. It was a great experience, when thinking that you have heard every prog album worth listening to, then HTM came as a Happy surprise.
Genesis and Jethro Tull for example, are the famous and well known symphonic/progbands, not that many people know of Happy The Man, right!? So my question to you all is now...How did YOU find out about Happy The Man?
