Just listened to "Open Book" and what can i say , -what a wonderful tune it is! I always liked it, even that much that i even had thoughts about making a "rock video" of it a couple of years back when i was studying film and video production.
The idea was to shot a beautiful forest, in front of the forest there´s a stream (the airy rhodes piano) everything is stillness and beauty. Then comes the human machines that are destroying and raping the forest (the powerful drumbeats), trees falls to the ground, the sky turnes darker.
Then, when the soft acoustic guitar takes on i thought of it as the nature and forest gets a little time out to recover, flowers and everything is blooming and the sun is shining to give life to earth, the will to live and survive.
Then it starts all over again, the human kind has no affection for anything than itself, learning nothing of it´s own mistakes. Destroying the earth. END
Havent really thought about how the real ending should be (good or bad) but that is the dark northern ending. This is how Open Book fealt to me when i started to think of it in "mind images" to make a rockvideo when i was studying film and video production. But unfortunately there is no Open Book video yet, but who knows..
