Was viewing the play list at OS My space and the most played tune is Noodlepoint, so I am wondering: What's your favorite Oblivion Sun tune so far?

I love the melodies in Fanfare, and Bill's Moog solo in Noodlepoint kicks a**, it's awesome! (Bill - you are on my favorite keyboard players top list). Catwalk is all great, like the arrangements and shifts in tempo....so in the end I have a hard time choosing a favorite tune.

I really liked Chapter 7.1, because My favorite song on PGA was Chapter 7. But I really like "The Ride" on Oblivion Sun.

I would say my favorites are either Tales or No Surprises. I love the slide guitar solo that Stan does on Tales. It is a great tune that Bill brought up to a crescendo and then pulls the rug out on you when you feel that your heart is about to pound itself out of your chest. No Surprises is a nice rocker with a cool riff.

I like No Surprises, too, but Golden Feast and The Ride are really, really good.

I agree with you about everything. It is really hard to pick a favorite from this album. Every song packs its own uniqueness in it. I am more of a rocker at heart so I leaned towards the heavier ones. |

I am also a rocker at heart, but I like most anything melodic as well. Stan's vocal and lyric on "Everything" is simply superb. Then throw in "Love" and "Whole" from PGA and I think you know what I mean. More great lyric and vocal, with Stan and Frank playing wonderful melodies. |

Just a few years late on this thread I guess, but my favorites are definitely Fanfare and Golden Feast. I seem to be the odd one out as The Ride is my least favorite song on the album, though considering how much I love everything else it's pretty tough competition. I'm also a sucker for the seamless and graceful time changes that flourish throughout the rest of the album.

 Welcome on board and thanks for your view. It would be interesting to see which tracks have stand the test of time, especially because it's been some time I've played the album. Like many others I almost complain that there's way too much music produced these days and I want to hear everything interesting, which is impossible. I often wonder if it's better to stop collecting and start listening to all the things I haven't listened well to compared to the first albums I bought in the 70's. OS would certainly be standing the test of time as a complete album, but maybe some of the tracks I might like better or lesser now. |
