Received the album today and right now I'm listening to it for the first time and while I type The High Places starts....
First impression: this is more a guitar-based album, with more piano and less synths. It's good that the guys didn't make a OSII, but went a different path. Still, two tracks have a past: Everything, that short little ballad, is a re-working of the same song that appeared on the Whitaker-Wyatt CD "Pedal Giant Animals" and of course The High Places is based on Merlin Of The High Places from Happy The Man. But in the latter song there is a different approach, although there are of course some HTM-like fragments. I like Stan's vocal style, it has such a fine grace and the combination with the piano gives a real warm sound.
